2020 MSC Schedule Press Release

Press Release January 18th, 2020

WALDEN, N.Y. (January 18, 2020) – Metropolitan Sports Committee, the Northeast’s Largest Amateur Motocross Series located in the Hudson Valley of New York, is pleased to announce the 2020 MSC Championship Series motocross schedule. The series will start up on March 29th and continue with 22 races ending on October 25th.

Racing will start at the Walden MX track located in Wallkill, NY on March 29th, 2020.  This event will be a Pro-Am race with a rain date of April 19th, 2020.  Walden MX has returned to the MSC in 2020 bringing over 50 years of racing history back to where Walden got started.  Walden returns with 4 MSC races including a Loretta Lynn Area Qualifier on May 2nd and 3rd, which Sunday will be an MSC points paying event.

Orange County Fair Motocross will follow up with the 2nd race of the season on April 5th, 2020.  OCFMX will host 6 races in 2020 and certainly boasts some of the biggest payout races with their year end finale in 2019 paying a whopping $10K purse!  2020 will be just as exciting with some very nice track changes to ensure the smaller and less experienced riders enjoy the track as much as the higher skilled riders do.

Diamondback Motocross of East Durham will be racing on Mother’s Day weekend to start their year, on May 10th, 2020.  Diamondback has been one of the fastest racetracks in the series for years.  Track preparation will be the main focus for 2020 as new equipment has been added and soft organic material is already onsite to be installed into the racing surface. DBMX will host 5 races in 2020 and end with a celebration on September 5th & 6th for a great Labor Day weekend!

Ace Motocross once again is back at the Wick 338 for two rounds starting on May 24th, 2020.  Ace has been with MSC since the 1960’s and has always provided a fun, exciting race weekend every time they host an event.  Don’t miss out on the Ace race, you get to ride the Southwick National Track twice in 2020!

Echo Valley Motocross Club is hosting 3 events in 2020 with the first one on May 31st, 2020.  Echo has put a lot of time and effort into their track over the last few seasons and it shows.  Sandy surface has replaced a hard-packed track of years passed.  The track is tame but a lot of fun.  Echo Valley will end their season on September 13th, 2020.

Holiday Mountain Action Sports will be back with MSC in 2020 with two events in Monticello, NY starting on June 7th, 2020.  Holiday is a very sandy, hilly track with some great elevation and layout.  This place is not only fun to ride at, but has rental go karts, mini golf, and a clear stream to fish in or take a swim.  Holiday’s last event will be September 27th, 2020 so don’t miss either, you will regret it!

For 2020 with the addition of Walden MX, MSC has brought in the American Motorcyclist Association to sanction our events which includes rider skill management, a comprehensive rules package, and lends our riders who wish to make it to the professional ranks someday, a format more inclusive of preparing for bigger events.  Walden MX is required to operate under the AMA flag as that requirement is part of their club’s bylaws of operation.  For Walden to come on board with us, it became a requirement for MSC.  In years past, MSC has performed well on our own, but we know if we wish to move further ahead

and consolidate our series as it was before 2008, we joined AMA as a team.  We welcome the future of MSC Motocross and D34 Competition Partnership as named by AMA with our goal of extending opportunities for our riders that we couldn’t provide until now.  Our riders will enjoy a more professional series with affiliation of the leader in professional motocross racing, the American Motorcyclist Association.

We regretfully announce that Claverack Motocross will not be returning to the MSC for the 2020 season.  We sincerely appreciate all the years Claverack spent with MSC and our hope is that the Claverack MX  will one day return to MSC.  For now, we wish them well and hope they are successful in 2020.

Metropolitan Sports Committee welcomes all the new and renewing members for 2020.  Riders can sign up online or by mail at mscmotocross.com/membership/ or at the track on race weekends.  It is advised to sign up early so you can keep your riding number and to order your graphics with the correct color background.
