MSC wins AMA Club of the Year for 2020!

It was announced today that the Metropolitan Sports Committee has won the AMA, Club of the Year award for the 2020 season.

When we think of awards, we typically think of riders winning races and normally it isn’t us on the receiving end of something like this.   To be honest, it is an honor to be recognized by the American Motorcyclist Association for our hard work and dedication to the sport of motocross. Thank you AMA!

So how did we do it?

We did what we always do, we offered a great option for riders to participate in motocross racing with a consistent program our riders are accustom to.  With great enthusiasm each and every year, the MSC aligns itself with wonderful companies such as Honda, Kawasaki, Husqvarna, Suzuki, Yamaha and for 2021 you can add KTM to that fold for OEM Contingency programs for our riders.  We work with aftermarket companies such as DP Brakes, Apparel companies such as Fly Racing and Online Giants such as Rocky Mountain MC/ATV for their rider support programs again focused on our riders.  Combine this with the 6 great tracks we schedule dates with and one heck of a banquet with huge trophies, special awards for those riders who EARN it and of course the best banquet prizes in the business with not just one but TWO BRAND NEW 2021 MOTOCROSS BIKES AND NOW ADD A MOUNTAIN BIKE we will be raffling off!

Yeah that is how its done.  That is how it has been done for many years here at the Metropolitan Sports Committee AMA District 34

Thank you goes out to:

Michael Gurda &  Rohit Patel (OCFMX), Paul Cornell & Henry Mormile (Echo Valley),  Jamie Marvin & Kaden Marvin (Holiday Mountian), Kathy Fox & Steve Kaznowski (Walden MX), Rob Angot, Mike Hoensch, Terry Finkle & Walter Marshall (Ace MX), Ralph Scannapieco (MSC Sgt at Arms), Walt Decker (MSC Ref), Butch Racenet, Davey Sterritt & Aaron Lampi (MSC Rider Reps), my wife Yasmin Slaughter, my daughters Ava and Emma Slaughter and my son James Slaughter Jr (Diamondback).   All that hard work and dedication to volunteer our time and effort just got recognized.

We also thank our loyal riders who continuously partake in great motocross racing with us each and every weekend.  2021 is looking great with many more riders signing up compared to last year.  Our banquet will be on March 27th, 2021 at OCFMX Arena from 4pm to 9 pm and racing will start on April 11th also at OCFMX.

Sincerely,

James Slaughter, Chairman
