OK so we have a few rules that we must adhere to, to ensure we comply with our SAFE TO RACE plan for Wuhan Chinese Virus (COVID-19)

Riders and Race Families only, no spectators or people who are here without a racer.

FAQ:

  • You have a racer in your family and you are here to support their racing efforts, you are allowed to be onsite. If you come in a different vehicle, please let us know who your racer is so we can note it on our roster sign-in. You must have at least one rider you are “supporting” to be onsite.
  • Are grandma and grandpa, uncle or aunt, cousins, brothers and sisters, race friends/mechanics spectators? Of course not, as in all motocross families, it takes a team of people to ensure their rider has the support needed to race. Just make sure your race team stays in your pit area when not watching the racer navigate the race course during their practice or race.
  • If I am racing by myself, am I allowed on site? Of course you are! You are a racer!
  • Will there be seating for race teams to watch? No seating is provided. Please bring your own lawn chairs and remember, you must remain 6 feet away from others when at the fence lines.
  • Will I need a face mask? Yes, please wear a facemask when entering the track at the front gate sign in, at the racer registration, in staging and on the starting line with your racer and while watching your racer navigate the course.
  • There will be no exceptions for not wearing face masks in the locations requiring them to be worn. You will be warned 1 time. If you fail to follow this policy you may be asked to leave with no refund of any kind. We certainly don’t want that to happen so just wear the mask when required and we will all have a great race weekend.

Rules for paying:
Entry Fee: $15.00 per person ages 6 and older in team and all riders regardless of age – wristband MUST be worn on wrist at all times. NO EXCEPTIONS

Practice Fee: $30.00 per rider – wristband MUST be worn on wrist of rider at all times. NO EXCEPTIONS

Race Class Fee: $30.00 per class, buy 3 classes for 1 rider and get a 4th one for free for the same rider. Can only be used for 1 rider, cannot be split between different riders.
Please have exact change, if you can.

END OF ANOTHER GREAT SEASON

The 2015 Metropolitan Sports Committee’s Championship Motocross Series has come to a close. The last day of racing was a very cold one with bursts of snow at times in the afternoon. It reminded me of the first race of the year with the challenges the weather gave all of us for most of Spring and into early Summer. Once the weather let up, we then had a very dry, hot summer. Weather is the one variable we have absolutely no control over. Because motocross races can be run in almost any condition, we were very fortunate to only have one race cancelled due to poor weather and we appreciate the participation on those tough days.

2015 brought some new champions that some may have not thought were possible given the high caliber racers, racing this series. Watching some of our riders go from rusty, spring racers to in shape, finely tuned skilled pilots of these race machines was just great. 50cc peewee riders getting their first trophy to Vet riders getting their first win are what this is all about. The many family’s of MSC Motocross coming together to support injured riders, or help someone in need, and even morn the loss of a friend/rider as a family is powerful, genuine, and humbling. I am proud to say I am a member of this organization.

2016 is being organized right now. We are setting up our dates to offer our racers the best options possible. As this fall progresses, we will be posting our schedule, any rule changes, and exciting new additions to our program that can only be found with the MSC. Rider feedback throughout the season has not gone by the wayside. We are making it our number one priority in using the feedback from our riders, family members, and close consultants within our industry to steer the MSC down the path of success and fun for our riders.

Our banquet will be held on Feb 14th, 2016 and of course we will be raffling off thousands of $$$ is prizes, a 2016 250F and a 2016 450F motocross bike. CLICK HERE to download the Banquet Registration Form.

We want to thank our five participating race tracks, Claverack MX, Diamondback MX, Echo Valley MX, Orange County Fair MX, and Twister Valley MX. They work extremely hard to provide the best racing they can each and every event. Our sponsors and contingencies offerings from Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Fly Racing, and DP Brakes. Thank you for supporting our riders and our series.

We also thank everyone who participated with the MSC in 2015 and wish everyone a wonderful off season, safe winter, and great holidays. See you at the banquet.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

James Slaughter

March 29th – Round 1 – OCFMX

Motocross commences on March 29th, 2015 as Round 1 of the MSC Championship Motocross Series gets underway at the Orange County Fair Motocross facility in Middletown, NY.  Speaking with track owner, Mike Gurda, he says most of the track work is complete and they will be ready for action come Sunday morning.  Some new additions to the track will develop early in the season and they are excited to get racing underway.

James Slaughter, Chairman of the MSC, says,”We are very glad winter is over, although we had some snow on Friday, the forecast going forward looks good and typical of spring in the northeast.  MSC is grateful that all of our sponsors and contingency programs remain intact for 2015.  Our 2015 membership is looking real good, we have to thank our dedicated riders who come back to MSC each and every year to participate in the historic series.”
