The AMA has added a section to their rule book for the safety of riders at AMA Sanctioned events. The rule is listed in the 2023 AMA Rule book on page 28 (Section 1.2 Motocross Equipment; F Competition Apparel; 4) states the following:
“It is highly recommended that chest and back protection be worn by all competitors. It is required for all competitors in Youth Classes to wear chest and back protection. The protector may be worn under or over the jersey, and it should cover the sternum anterior ribs, posterior ribs, and spine from T1 to T12. For road racing a back protector must be worn under their leathers unless integrated into the design of the leathers.”
Please if you do not already have the proper equipment as stated above, we suggest you take the time between now and your first ride of the year to purchase one. If you are an adult, wearing the aforementioned safety device is highly suggested but ultimately your decision to wear it. Youth will be a MUST.
With the winter weather coming and the holidays are upon us, the last thing we are thinking about right now is racing right? Nope, its still on our minds, in fact probably one of the top 3 things us crazy racers think about on the daily!
We have a lot of work ahead of us here at MSC to get the banquet dialed in properly to meet our deadlines for Awards, Apparel and Prizes.
Take a look below at our Top 10 Riders from each Championship Class. Any spelling issues, missing Hometown data can be corrected. Please email corrections to Chairman@MSCMotocross.com
How can you help MSC? Well, I’m glad you asked. Here’s a list of items that need to be addressed:
Merry Christmas to you and your family from your MSC Motocross Family! Please be safe this holiday season!
As always, can we all agree that when the season comes to a close, we are a bit relieved but a bit sad?
The end of the racing season for us in the Northeast, means the winter weather is coming and we can’t ride until it breaks locally, unless we travel south or somewhere, where the weather isn’t a huge factor. Many will need time to regroup, heal, sell the old and buy new stuff, ya know, get ready to do it all over again. But at the same time, we miss the excitement, the build up of a particular race, or just hanging out with your buddies at the track.
2022 was one of those years where so much craziness was going on in life. The fuel prices were insane all season. It affected everything in such a negative way, yet many of our riders came out and raced anyway. I think it’s the get away from everyday life that motocross brings to us all. We all spent more money to enjoy what we love, but it’s so worth it.
We saw some great racing in every class this season and those who persevered will be rewarded at this years banquet on February 11th, 2023.
MSC has already locked in most of our race dates for 2023. We will be back with all 6 of our tracks once more for some great, action packed racing.
2023 Member Registration is now open online.
You have until February 1st, 2023 to reserve your rider number so please don’t wait. We have many people wanting specific rider numbers and once the numbers are released, they are fair game!
All riders earning a Top 10 spot are eligible to receive awards at the banquet. Champions will receive free entry to the banquet and a Championship Jacket. Banquet registration will be posted on the front page of our website shortly. Make sure you review you rider name, rider number and other information for misspellings and incorrect data. CLICK HERE
We at MSC AMA District 34 would like to congratulate our racers who earned a trophy at the tracks and/or at the banquet. Kudos to the Class Champions for earning that Top Spot on the podium and thank everyone who attended our events this season. We hope you enjoyed our series and we hope to see you in 2023.
Sincerely,
James Slaughter, Chairman
