World’s Most Uniquely Challenging Motorsports Championship
Consists of 11 Rounds Across the Country Throughout the Summer
Walden, NY (7/26/2023) – Walden’s James Slaughter, Jr is set to compete at the pinnacle of off-road motorcycle racing, against a star-studded field of elite talent from all over the world. The 24-year-old dirt-bike racer is competing in the globally prestigious Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, the world’s most uniquely challenging motorsports competition which travels across the country for 11 weekends every summer, visiting 10 different states on the journey to crown a champion.
Over the course of this grueling championship, hundreds of riders and tens-of-thousands of fans will converge at some of the most remote, yet picturesque landscapes in the United States. Many of the events and tracks that comprise the Pro Motocross Championship carry upwards of five decades of history, making them legendary and iconic venues within the sport, just like landmark stadiums such as Wrigley Field and Fenway Park.
The Pro Motocross Championship begins with a Memorial Day weekend celebration in late May and continues through late August and features two classes of competition – 250 Class and 450 Class. The 250 Class is where the sport’s most promising young stars do battle, making a name for themselves in hopes of future success. The 450 Class is the championship’s premier showcase, where the biggest names in motocross, like America’s Chase Sexton, Australia’s Jett Lawrence, and France’s Dylan Ferrandis, showcase their exceptional talents in search of victory and the sport’s most coveted championship. Regardless of class, these competitors are some of the toughest, fittest, and most uniquely skilled athletes on the planet who show no fear as they battle their own physical and mental limits, an ever-changing track, a powerful 250-pound motorcycle, and 39 other riders. There is simply nothing else like it in sports as these modern-day gladiators engage on a competitive spectacle of man, machine, and lots of airtime.
All of the sport’s most recognizable names have left their mark on the Pro Motocross Championship, including the “G.O.A.T.” Ricky Carmichael, multi-talented icon Travis Pastrana, the “Fastest Man on the Planet” James “Bubba” Stewart, and the “King” Jeremy McGrath. To win in this championship is the ultimate distinguishment in the annals of the sport’s history, but to even have the talent to compete against the world’s best racers from around the globe is an incredible achievement that deserves to be celebrated. This is motocross in its highest form and all its competitors can rightfully claim their position as one of the best in the world.
Slaughter has been riding dirt bikes since he was 4 years old and has been competing professionally since 2022. He honed is talents by racing locally at Metropolitan Sports Committee AMA District 34 tracks such as Diamondback MX, Echo Valley MX, Holiday Mountain MX, Orange County Fair MX, Southwick 338, and Walden MX before deciding to chase success at the sport’s highest level.
With the help of family, friends, and sponsors such as Diamondback MX, The Ranch at Carlisle, Kings Hill Contracting, Waxed Racing, Valley Moto Shop, and Racer Camp who help pay his way to the races, Slaughter can fulfill his passion and pursue his dreams. Motocross is a sport that requires sacrifice and the ability to overcome adversity and without the commitment from Slaughter and his supporters, this dream would not be possible.
