Due to the current Phase plans for NY and MA States, the Metropolitan Sports Committee has postponed events through mid June. We have used open dates to allow tracks to move where they could properly fit. On a normal year, MSC would have left the races where they were scheduled, but we all know that normal isn’t in the equation just yet.
Some highlights of the schedule changes are the first race of the season will be held at Diamondback MX on June 14th. Holiday Mountain moved it’s opener to July 11th, Walden moved it’s opener to July 19th, Ace/Wick has moved its opener to Saturday July 25th single points event with Sunday 26th being a double points event, and Echo moved its May event to October 18th.
Today, we received guidance from the AMA on new procedures for the safe operation of our tracks. The AMA did a great job in creating a team of race experts to build facility procedures, recommendations and Best Practices. We will be posting these new procedures very soon so our riders can prepare for the changes.
We hope by June, there will be an opportunity for our series races to get underway. Until then, we patiently wait.
MSC would also like to express our condolences to anyone that has lost a loved one during this hard time. We thank our front line workforce who has battled daily for months while working under very tough conditions. We salute the doctors, nurses, EMT’s, Police, Fire, and other first responders who all put their lives on the line interacting where this invisible monster exists. We also thank the food industry, gas stations, and other places of business staying open because they are essential for all of us to live comfortably. Please be patient, safe and healthy.
Family is Number 1, racing will return soon enough. Thank you and God Bless.
